Lifetime Jewelry Warranty

We stand behind our products and warrant that all items will be free from manufacturing defects for the life of the products to the extent of our knowledge and our designers.  If you believe your item has a manufacturing defect, please bring it in for inspection.  If we determine your item has a manufacturer defect or is damaged due to a manufacturing defect, we will work to repair the merchandise with the help of our valued designers and jewelry professionals, or if we and the designer deem appropriate, request to replace the item.  If the item is no longer available, Walters & Hogsett Jewelers and our designer may in its discretion and your approval, replace with like-kind or allow a refund equal to the selling price of the original item or component.  If we determine the damage is not caused by a manufacturing defect, then we will notify you and offer repair services at standard costs or otherwise.
We will inspect, clean, and polish your jewelry (routine cleaning) for free whether purchased at Walters & Hogsett Jewelers or not, and within our normal operations.  Routine cleaning and free warranty inspections (four times per year) helps your jewelry look its best, and inspection ensures your jewelry is ready for normal everyday wear.  Unlimited free cleanings and quarterly warranty inspections will maintain your warranty.

Resizing
We offer one ring sizing within the first year of purchase at no charge to you.
*Normal Wear:  Jewelry is made from durable materials but is not indestructible.  Striking, banging and lifting solid heavy items can damage your jewelry and break gemstones and is not considered Normal Wear.  Everyone wears jewelry differently, but most manufacturing defects will appear quickly and involve the structure of the jewelry item.  Scratches or wear marks showing on your jewelry from Normal Wear can usually be improved with regular cleaning and polishing by our expert staff and jeweler.  We will consult with you if a refurbishment is recommended and discuss our normal refurbishment shop rates.
Some examples of common jewelry issues outside of Normal Wear that would not be considered manufacturing defects and most likely caused by the wearer include:
    • The discoloration of precious metals caused by chemicals, make-up, immersion in pools and hot tubs, bathing, etc.
    • Precious metals, and especially prongs, wear down over time and may require refurbishment or replacement work as a result of Normal Wear.  We can provide an estimate from industry standard repair rates and our master jeweler.
    • Prongs, catching, wearing out, or bending over time due to everyday wear or normal incidental damage, allowing a gemstone to fall out.
    • The chipping, scratching or loss of a gemstone caused by damage from everyday wear or from other damage.
This warranty does not apply to our collection of estate jewelry.
